Dear Toddler Mom Fighting Is Where The Truth Is At
The world is driven by the status quo. Status quo will never hand you your value on a silver platter. You have to fight for it. Fight for your voice so you can hold space for your child to own theirs too.
You can’t live life on the defense. Afraid to do anything for fear you’ll be whack-a-moled out of existence because when you do, you’ll also be the first to whack-a-mole your kids, out of love and fear, so they can learn to hide before the big-bad-world whack-a-moles them out of existence. Result - they end up buried instead.
Then with precise inevitability, the two year old who was proud to flaunt her ability and knew nothing about impostor syndrome is wallowing in impostor syndrome hell at 32, and overwhelmed because she’s also triggered by her toddler.
When she was two, if she was uncertain about the quality of her talents, she simply asked for feedback “mommy am I doing it right?” And applied herself once she got the feedback “got it mommy, I’m adding sand like you said.” At 32, she is so buried, she can’t even see that impostor syndrome is the product of the imaginary whack-a-mole fear she crystallized into existence that traps her underground — too afraid to surface.
The world is changing at such a fast pace, your kids need the best of you to help them navigate a future that is very different from the one we grew up in.
Mama dare to surface.
